My fast has been long, and I do not raise my price;
My fast has been long, yet I do not cease my fast
And my arrival at death is the breaking of my fast.
And my provision for death is to break fast

O gray hair, let nothing from my hand alarm you—
O gray hair, do not doubt that you are a shield
no scissors; nor shall dye conceal you.
A razor cannot shave you, nor can danger threaten you

If you restrain the obstinate soul from sin
If you forbid the obstinate self from sin
and it becomes pure, then you are nothing but perfume.
And it becomes good, you are but a sweet scent

You gleamed like camphor that expiated a sin;
You have become like camphor, atoning for sins
So cool it, if molten copper has been brought to the boil.
So cool down, even if the cooking pot was heated
