أَرى الأَرضَ فيها دَولَةٌ مُضَرِيَّةٌ

أَرى الأَرضَ فيها دَولَةٌ مُضَرِيَّةٌ

يَكونُ دَمُ الباغي عَداوَتَها مِضرا

يَكونُ دَمُ الباغي عَداوَتَها مِضرا

I see upon the earth a Mudarite dynasty;

The blood of whoever seeks enmity toward it is left unavenged.

وَأَردِيَةٍ بيضاً تَبَدَّلَ أَهلُها

وَأَردِيَةٍ بيضاً تَبَدَّلَ أَهلُها

بِحُكمِكَ رَبَّ الناسِ أَردِيَةٍ خُضرا

بِحُكمِكَ رَبَّ الناسِ أَردِيَةٍ خُضرا

And white robes—their wearers have exchanged them,

By Your decree, Lord of humankind, for green robes.

وَقَد زَعَموا أَنَّ القِرانَ مُغَيِّرٌ

وَقَد زَعَموا أَنَّ القِرانَ مُغَيِّرٌ

مُلوكَ بَني النَضرِ الأُلى مَلَكوا النَضرا

مُلوكَ بَني النَضرِ الأُلى مَلَكوا النَضرا

And they have claimed that the planetary conjunction changes

The kings of the sons of al-Nadr, who possessed gold.

وَما أَعفَتِ الأَيّامُ بَدواً مِنَ الرَدى

وَما أَعفَتِ الأَيّامُ بَدواً مِنَ الرَدى

وَلا حَضَراً فَاِسأَل بَداً عَنهُ وَالحَضرا

وَلا حَضَراً فَاِسأَل بَداً عَنهُ وَالحَضرا

And the days have not spared nomads from death,

Nor townsfolk—so ask nomads and townsfolk about it.
