رَأَيتُ المَرءَ يَهوي في هُبوطٍ

رَأَيتُ المَرءَ يَهوي في هُبوطٍ

إِذ هُوَ فَوقَ أَيدي القَومِ عولي

إِذ هُوَ فَوقَ أَيدي القَومِ عولي

I saw a man falling downward,

I saw a man fall as if from a high place

as he was lifted above the people's hands.

Though he was above the hands of the people rising

وَما أَدري بِما سَيَكونُ مِنّي

وَما أَدري بِما سَيَكونُ مِنّي

وَلَكِن في البَسيطَةِ أَوسِعوا لي

وَلَكِن في البَسيطَةِ أَوسِعوا لي

And I do not know what will become of me,

I do not know what will become of me

but make room for me in the earth.

But in the desert, make room for me
