Has a community accepted counsel from a well-wisher,

One that goes to Easter with its crosses?

Churches are united by a bond

Between their fair women and their young men.

Why has she—virgin or no longer so—

Like the picker's rose in its season,

Gone to the priest with her offering,

When her home has a greater claim to her offering?

She has already experienced evil from his deeds,

While perfume flows at her gown's neckline.

And she angers her Lord—nay, her husband, the

Wretched man—in obedience to her spiritual master.

And she visited the monastery, her garments

    Certain to tempt her monks.
