Has a community ever heeded an adviser—

one that sets out for Easter bearing its crosses?

Churches are united by a bond

between their fair women and their young men.

Why is she, virgin or not,

like the plucker's rose in its prime?

She went to the priest with her offering,

though her home is worthier of her offering.

She has already encountered evil in his conduct,

while perfume streams at her neckline.

And she angers her Lord—rather, her husband, the

wretched man—in obedience to her spiritual master.

And she visited the monastery, her garments

    sure to tempt her monks.
