بِطولِBy the length of سُراكَyour night travels وَتِرحالِكاand your journeying
وَتَمِّكَand your fullness مِنfrom بَعدِafter اِنحالِكاyour waning
By your long night travels and your journeying,
and your fullness after your waning,
تَكَلَّمSpeak فَخَبِّرand tell بَنيthe children of آدَمٍAdam
بِماof what عَلِمَknows اللَهُGod مِنof حالِكاyour state
speak, and tell the children of Adam
what God knows of your state.
أَظُنُّكَI think you غَيرَnot مُباليconcerned الضَميرِthe inner self
بِخَصبِكَwith your abundance يَوماًone day وَإِمحالِكاand your barrenness
I think you unconcerned at heart
with your abundance one day and your barrenness.
وَياand O عالِماًone who knows بِصُروفِof the vicissitudes of الزَمانِtime
كَماjust as عَلِمَhave learned القَومُthe people مِنof ذِلكاthat
And O you who know the vicissitudes of time,
just as people have learned of them.
