لَمnot تَلقَyou met فيin الأَيّامِthe days إِلّاexcept صاحِباًa companion
لَم تَلقَ في الأَيّامِ إِلّا صاحِباً
تَأَذّىyou suffer harm بِهِthrough him طولَthroughout الحَياةِlife وَتَألَمُand feel pain
تَأَذّى بِهِ طولَ الحَياةِ وَتَألَمُ
In all your days, you have met only a companion
Through whom you suffer harm and pain throughout your life,
وَيَعُدُّand he considers كَونَكَyour existence فيin الزَمانِtime بَليَّةًa calamity
وَيَعُدُّ كَونَكَ في الزَمانِ بَليَّةً
فَاِصبِرso be patient لَهاwith it فَكَذاكَfor such is هَذاthis العالَمُthe world
فَاِصبِر لَها فَكَذاكَ هَذا العالَمُ
And he counts your existence in time a calamity.
So bear it patiently, for such is this world.
