غَيِّرcorrect وَأَنكِرand condemn عَلىagainst ذيone possessed of الفُحشِobscenity مَنطِقَهُhis speech
غَيِّر وَأَنكِر عَلى ذي الفُحشِ مَنطِقَهُ
إِذاwhen أَجازَrewarded خَنازيرٍswine خَنازيرُswine
إِذا أَجازَ خَنازيرٍ خَنازيرُ
Correct and condemn the foul-mouthed man's speech,
Rebuke and deny the one with obscene speech,
When swine reward swine.
When pigs approve of other pigs.
أَمّاas for الجُسومُthe bodies فَإِنسٌthen, humans فيin مَناظِرِهاtheir appearances
أَمّا الجُسومُ فَإِنسٌ في مَناظِرِها
لَهاfor them مِنَof النَحضِflesh تَشبيكٌinterweaving وَتَأزيرُand girdling
لَها مِنَ النَحضِ تَشبيكٌ وَتَأزيرُ
As for their bodies, they are human in appearance;
As for the bodies, they are human in appearance,
They have a mesh and a girdle of flesh.
With intricate and dazzling ornaments.
كَأَنَّهاas though they were وَرِجالٌand men يَنهَضونَrise up بِهاwith them
كَأَنَّها وَرِجالٌ يَنهَضونَ بِها
مِنَbecause of الفَخامَةِgreat bulk هَوناتٌshe-camels بَهازيرُhuge and stout
مِنَ الفَخامَةِ هَوناتٌ بَهازيرُ
As though they, with men bearing them up,
As if they and the men who escort them,
Were, in their bulk, enormous she-camels.
Are despicable show-offs.
يُعَزَّرُis honored المَلكُthe king تَوقيراًin reverence وَحُقَّand was due لَهُto him
يُعَزَّرُ المَلكُ تَوقيراً وَحُقَّ لَهُ
عَلىfor المَآثِمِsins تَأديبٌchastisement وَتَعزيزُand strengthening
عَلى المَآثِمِ تَأديبٌ وَتَعزيزُ
The king is honored in reverence, though he deserves
The king is respected out of reverence, and he deserves,
For his sins, chastisement and strengthening.
To discipline sins and give encouragement.
