You brought two armies together—how much blood

You shed, not as an offering for a pilgrim combining rites!

So dispute with me, if you wish, or not; for nothing

Is known except the abasement of my nose-tip.

    Evil’s firesticks spark in this

World; so say, “O my grave, conceal me.”

    فَأَقصِني في الأَرضِ أَو دارِني

    And, my friend, my grime is growing;

So banish me across the earth, or bear with me.

You have wealth, so help a beggar,

And do not spend the night like a balking racehorse.

For a man is for a woman, and the hand for a

Slap, and the nose for its striker.
