If the lightning stirs you, then be stirred.
Sustenance is not withheld by bolting doors.
أُصبِحُI wake فيin لَحديmy grave عَلىin وَحدَتيmy solitude
لَستُI am not إِلىof الدُنياthe world بِمُحتاجِin need
I wake in my grave, all alone;
I have no need of the world.

كَشفِيَmy baring رَأسيmy head وَاِفتِقاريand my poverty بِهاin it
خَيرٌbetter مِنَthan التَمليكِenthronement وَالتاجِand the crown
My bare head and my poverty in it
Are better than enthronement and the crown.
