أُسكُتbe silent وَخَلِّand leave مُضِلَّهُمtheir misleader وَشُؤونَهُand his affairs
لِيَسوقَهُمso he may drive them بِعَصاهُwith his staff أَوor بِحُسامِهِwith his sword
Be silent, and leave their misleader to his affairs,
Be silent, leave their misguided ways and affairs
to drive them with his staff or his sword.
So He may lead them with His staff or His sword
نُصِحواthey were counseled فَماbut did not قَبِلواthey accept وَباعواand bought كِثكِثاًfine dust
مِنfrom شَرِّthe poorest of مَعدِنِهِits mine بِقيمَةِat the price of سامِهِits gold
They were counseled but would not heed, and bought fine dust
They were advised but did not accept and sold a lot
from its poorest mine at the price of its gold.
Of the evil of their mine for the price of poison
فَكَأَنَّهُمso they are like غَنَمٌsheep تَرودُseek out أُسامَهاtheir lion
مَنone who لاdoes not يُباليcare كَيفَhow حالُthe condition مَسامِهِof his pasture
So they are like sheep seeking out their lion,
So they are like sheep led by one who does not care
one who cares nothing for the state of his pasture.
How it fares with their lead ropes
دُفِنَwas buried السُرورُjoy فَماso no يَبينُappears لِعاقِلٍto a wise person

Joy is buried; to a wise person there appears no
Happiness is buried, no sign to a wise one
calamity of which death is one kind.
That death might be in its divisions

A man lies when he attributes evil to
A man lied attributing vileness to
the One who created humankind; that man scribbles in his feverish delirium.
He who created mankind and outlined in His design
