Some people said—and I do not subscribe to what they said—
that the son of Adam is like a weasel, the “son of ʿIrs”:
جِهلَdid not know الناسُthe people ماwhat أَبوهُhis father عَلىthroughout الدَهthe ages (word continues)
جِهلَ الناسُ ما أَبوهُ عَلى الدَه
رِcompletion of الدهر: “the ages” وَلَكِنَّهُbut he مُسَمّىًnamed بِحَرسِas Ḥars

People have never known what his father is,
yet he is named Ḥars,

in a tale one group related to another,
bound to one copied parchment after another.
