ظَلَمتُم غَيرَكُم فَأُديلَ مِنكُم

ظَلَمتُم غَيرَكُم فَأُديلَ مِنكُم

وَأَخيارُ الأَنامِ مُظَلَّموهُ

وَأَخيارُ الأَنامِ مُظَلَّموهُ

You wronged another, so he was given the upper hand over you.

And the best of humankind are those he accuses of injustice.

تَهاوَنتُم بِمُطرانِ النَصارى

تَهاوَنتُم بِمُطرانِ النَصارى

وَأَشياعُ اِبنِ مَريَمَ عَظَّموهُ

وَأَشياعُ اِبنِ مَريَمَ عَظَّموهُ

You slighted the Christians' metropolitan bishop,

And the followers of the son of Mary revered him.

وَقالَ لَكُم نَبِيُّكُم إِذا ما

وَقالَ لَكُم نَبِيُّكُم إِذا ما

كَريمُ القَومِ جاءَ فَأَكرِموهُ

كَريمُ القَومِ جاءَ فَأَكرِموهُ

And your prophet said to you: "When

a people's nobleman comes, honor him."

فَلا يَرجِع خَطيبُكُمُ بِحِقدٍ

فَلا يَرجِع خَطيبُكُمُ بِحِقدٍ

مَتى لاقاهُمُ فَتَهَضَّموهُ

مَتى لاقاهُمُ فَتَهَضَّموهُ

So let your preacher not return with resentment

when he meets them and they belittle him.
