Sol 6.1

  1. إِذا قَلَّت فَوائِدُنا جُفَينا

    بِذاكَ يَزُمُّ أَينُقَهُ الخَليطُ

    When our gifts grow few, we are shunned.

    For that reason, the companion halters his she-camels.

  2. وَلَم أوثِر لِمِصباحِ خُموداً

    وَلَكِن خانَ مَوقِدَهُ السَليطُ

    And I did not wish a lamp to go out,

    But the lamp oil betrayed its burner.
