    Indeed, the Jew's ignorance led him to divorce a woman

    who was barren—and the best women are the barren.

    What did he want—God curse him—with a child

    who is made by Time to face what kills and what humbles?

    Do they not seek, if their trials last long,

    recovery from sickness—these ailing souls?

    وَاللَهُ يُمهِلُ حيناً ثُمَّ يَنتَقِمُ

    Like beasts, they have been deceived by their well-being;

    and God grants respite for a time, then takes vengeance.
