Can rain wash mankind from the face of the earth?
Will rain wash people from the face of the earth?
For as long as they remain, filth never leaves its face.
For as long as they remain, filth will not leave its face.
وَالأَرضُand the earth لَيسَis not بِمَرجُوٍّto be hoped for طَهارَتُهاits purity

There is no hope that the earth will be purified
And the earth's purity is not to be hoped for,
unless humankind vanishes from its horizons.
Unless humankind vanishes from its horizons.
تَناسَلواthey reproduced فَنَمىso grew شَرٌّevil بِنَسلِهِمُwith their offspring
وَكَمand how much فُجورٍdebauchery إِذاwhen شُبّانَهُمtheir young men عَنَسواremained unmarried
They breed, and evil grows through their progeny;
They reproduced, so evil grew with their offspring.
and how vice abounds when their young men remain unwed!
And how much debauchery when their young men remain unmarried!

Purer than the race whose noses rise in pride
Purer than the large-eyed women with high-bridged noses
is a race of wild beasts whose noses are snubbed.
Are large-eyed wild creatures with snub noses.

Gazelles are not made beautiful by ornaments upon them;
And it is not the gazelles wearing jewelry that are virtuous,
rather, gazelles have their lairs among the ghada trees.
But the gazelles with lairs among the ghada shrubs.
إِحتَجَّpleaded in defense فيin الغَيِّerror بِالنِسيانِby forgetfulness والِدُهُمtheir father

The multitude plead forgetfulness as an excuse for going astray,
Their father pleaded forgetfulness to excuse his error;
yet they strayed knowingly—I do not say they forgot.
Yet they went astray while remembering; I do not say they forgot.
