مِن طُلسَةِ المُبتَكِرِ الجامِعِ
In its very wording, ṭaylasān was derived
The taylasan mantle's name was derived
from the ṭulsān—the darkness—of the Originator, the All-Gathering;
from the dusky hue of the early-rising gatherer;

وَزيدَ ما زيدَ لِتَوكيدِهِ
فَالشَرُّso evil فيin بارِقِهِits flash اللامِعِgleaming
فَالشَرُّ في بارِقِهِ اللامِعِ
and whatever was added was added to reinforce it,
and what was added was added to reinforce it:

so evil lies in its gleaming flash.
وَأَماand has ... not? اِستَحىfelt shame العَدلُthe upright man وَأَخبارُهُand reports of him

are foul in the listener's ear?

Your deacon has never been unjust in his judgment,
Your deacon did not act unjustly in his judgment,
nor is your Jew greedy.
nor is your Jew covetous.

مِن مُسلِمٍ يَخطُبُ في الجامِعِ
So the priest is better for you, as I see it,
So the priest is better for you, as I see it,
than a Muslim preaching in the congregational mosque.
than a Muslim who preaches in the congregational mosque.
