مومِسٌa prostitute كَالإِناءِlike a vessel دَنَّسَهُdefiled it الشَرfirst part of 'drinkers'
مومِسٌ كَالإِناءِ دَنَّسَهُ الشَر
بُcompletion of 'drinkers' وَوَغدٌand a wretch كَأَنَّهُas though he were الكَلبُthe dog والِغlapping
بُ وَوَغدٌ كَأَنَّهُ الكَلبُ والِغ
A prostitute, like a vessel fouled by drink-
A prostitute like a vessel dirtied by vice
ers; and a wretch, as though he were a lapping dog.
And a youth like a dog and savage beast
وَعُقولٌand minds لَيسَتare not تَرُدُّrepelling فَتيلاًa thread; a whit
وَعُقولٌ لَيسَت تَرُدُّ فَتيلاً
لِقَضاءٍto a decree فيin عالَمِthe world of اللَهِGod بالِغtaking effect
لِقَضاءٍ في عالَمِ اللَهِ بالِغ
And minds that offer not even a thread of resistance
My mind cannot relight a wick
To a decree taking effect in God's world.
To a fate in God's world fully mature
