تَناقُضٌ ما لنا إِلّا السُكوتُ لَهُ

تَناقُضٌ ما لنا إِلّا السُكوتُ لَهُ

وَأَن نَعوذَ بِمَولانا مِنَ النارِ

وَأَن نَعوذَ بِمَولانا مِنَ النارِ

A contradiction—we can only be silent before it,

Our only option is silence in the face of contradiction

and seek refuge in our Lord from the Fire.

يَدٌ بِخَمسِ مِئينَ عَسجَدٍ فُدِيَت

يَدٌ بِخَمسِ مِئينَ عَسجَدٍ فُدِيَت

ما بالُها قُطِعَت في رُبعِ دينارِ

ما بالُها قُطِعَت في رُبعِ دينارِ

A hand was ransomed for five hundred in gold—

The hand that prostrated five hundred times was ransomed

why was it cut off for a quarter of a dinar?

For less than a quarter of a dinar, what a pity
