Sol 6.1

  1. إِن شِئتَ تُرزَقَ الدُنيا وَنِعمَتَها

    فَخَلِّ دُنياكَ تَظفَر بِالَّذي شيتا

    If you wish to be granted the world and its bounty,

    then forsake your world: you will attain what you wished.

  2. أَنشَأتَ تَطلُبُ مِنها غَيرَ مُسعِفَةٍ

    وَما لَها أَيُّها الإِنسانُ أُنشيتا

    You began seeking from it, though it offers no help,

    and you were not created for it, O human.

  3. فَاِخشَ المَليكَ وَلا توجَد عَلى رَهَبٍ

    إِن أَنتَ بِالجِنِّ في الظَلماءِ خُشيّتا

    So fear the Sovereign, and do not be found in dread,

    if you are made to fear jinn in the darkness.

  4. فَإِنَّما تِلكَ أَخبارٌ مُلَفَّقَةٌ

    لِخُدعَةِ الغافِلِ الحَشويِّ حوشيتا

    For those are nothing but fabricated tales,

    to deceive the heedless literalist—may you be spared!
