وَماand there is not عَلىupon الغَبراءِthe dusty earth إِلّاexcept سَفيهa fool
We pass our mornings and evenings like the children of Adam,
And upon the dusty earth there is none but a fool.
فَنَسأَلُso we ask العالِمَthe one who knows إِنقاذَناour deliverance
مِنfrom عالَمِthe world of السوءِevil الَّذيwhich نَحُنwe فيهin it
So we ask the one who knows to deliver us
From the world of evil in which we dwell.
