Remember your God when you wake from slumber,
Remember your God if you are free from worries,
And when you intend to slumber and sleep.
And when you intend to rest and sleep,
إِحذَرBeware مَجيئَكَyour coming فيat الحِسابِthe reckoning بِزائِفٍwith something counterfeit

Beware of coming to the reckoning with anything counterfeit;
Beware of coming to judgement with falsehood,
For God, your Lord, is the keenest of assayers.
For God is your Lord, the most demanding of reckoners.
تَغشىenvelops جَهَنَّمَHell دَمعَةٌa tear مِنfrom تائِبٍa penitent

A tear from a penitent envelops Hell,
A tear of the repentant covers hell,
So it dies down, though fiercely kindled.
Then it melts away, and it is fiercely burning.
