وَإِن أَتَتكَ بِما تَستَعذِبُ العَذَبُ
The morals of our world's inhabitants are tormented,
The morals of the people of our world are tortured
Even if tongues bring you what you find sweet.
Even if they come to you with what would sweeten bitterness

They gave the names Hilal (Crescent), Badr (Full Moon), Anjum (Stars), and Duha (Morning Light),
They called it crescent, full moon, stars and dawn
And Farqad and Simak—how greatly they lied!
And planets and constellations, how greatly they have lied

And no gaze was fastened to the sun's cords
Nothing tied with the ropes of the sun from a look
Without having, amid evil's cords, something drawing it in.
Except it has in the ropes of evil a puller
