Great are You; nothing besides You is great.

And generous are You; no generous soul rivals You.

And You brought known handiwork into being through a power

that impoverishes the wealthy and grants bounty to the destitute.

You are compassionate toward Your servants, a watchful guardian,

and generous to the sinner who seeks refuge in You.

Though I bear sin, guilty through having earned it,

not everyone who hopes for Your approval is sinful.

oppressor will wrong me at the two stations.

Men triumphed in the month of fasting; would that I

might be joined to them on the day of triumph,

can a boon companion find another in your stead?

for I am ever asking, and the One asked is generous.
