From the Chosen One—invoke blessings upon him and greet him with peace—

Pray upon the Chosen One, peace and blessings be upon him,

Matters were explicitly stated: understand them and make others understand.

Listen attentively to these questions and understand,

زيادة دنيانا فخمس وبعدها

زيادة دنيانا فخمس وبعدها

فعشرون قسماً حكمها يتقسم

فعشرون قسماً حكمها يتقسم

Increase in our worldly life: five, and after them,

The first five are for worldly increase - wealth, status, children, life span and family.

Then twenty divisions, their ruling subdivided.

The next twenty are matters judged and determined.

فخمس لعمري أسندت وهي بالقضا

فخمس لعمري أسندت وهي بالقضا

وغير القضا ما ليس فيهن يحكم

وغير القضا ما ليس فيهن يحكم

So five, by my life, are assigned, and are subject to decree.

Five are destined by fate - unchangeable by any authority.

And something other than decree governs what is not among them.

The other fifteen can be ruled upon.

هم الأهل والسلطان والنسل والغنى

هم الأهل والسلطان والنسل والغنى

وخامسها العمر الطويل المتمم

وخامسها العمر الطويل المتمم

They are family, authority, offspring, and wealth.

Family, ruler, progeny, and wealth.

And their fifth is a long life lived to its full span.

And fifth - the fullness of years to their completion.

وخمس أتت بالاجتهاد فعفهةً

وخمس أتت بالاجتهاد فعفهةً

فروسيةً خط جنان جهنم

فروسيةً خط جنان جهنم

And five come through striving: chastity,

Another five come through strife - chastity, horsemanship, calligraphy, gardens, hellfire.

Horsemanship, handwriting, Paradise's gardens, and Hell.

Five more by habit - bowel movements, marriage, eating, troubled sleep.

وخمس فبالعادات مشي تغوط

وخمس فبالعادات مشي تغوط

نكاح وأكل والنعاس المهوم

نكاح وأكل والنعاس المهوم

And five come through habit: walking, defecation,

By essence - wisdom, communication, generosity, righteousness, truthfulness.

Intercourse, eating, and drowsiness that makes one nod off.

These twenty five have come, and I hope

وبالجوهر الحلم التواصل والسخا

وبالجوهر الحلم التواصل والسخا

كذاك الصلاح الصدق حيث يهوم

كذاك الصلاح الصدق حيث يهوم

And through innate nature: forbearance, maintaining ties, and generosity,

God will forgive and have mercy,

Likewise righteousness and truthfulness, wherever one wanders.

Upon the Chosen One, his companions and family,

فذي الخمس والعشرون جاءت وإنني

فذي الخمس والعشرون جاءت وإنني

لراجٍ بأن اللَه يعفو ويرحم

لراجٍ بأن اللَه يعفو ويرحم

So these twenty-five have been set forth, and indeed I

And his progeny. Pray upon him and bless him.

Am truly hopeful that God will pardon and show mercy.

على المصطفى والصاحبيه وآله

وعترته صلوا عليه وسلموا

وعترته صلوا عليه وسلموا

Upon the Chosen One, his two companions, and his household,

And his kindred—invoke blessings upon him and greet him with peace.
