1. أَلا إن كتب الأنبياء عليهم

    صلاة من الرحمن دائمة تترى

    Behold, indeed, the books of the prophets—upon them

    Be blessings from the All-Merciful, unceasing, one after another—

  2. فأربعة جاءت على إثر ماية

    مفسّرة بطناً ومشروحة ظهرا

    Were four that came after a hundred,

    Explained inwardly and expounded outwardly.

  3. فخمسون منها كتب شيث بن آدم

    وإدريس منها بالثلاثين قد بُرّا

    So fifty of them were the books of Seth, son of Adam;

    And Idris was indeed favored with thirty of them;

  4. وعشرون منها للخليل بن آزر

    فذي ماية جاءت مبينة زهرا

    And twenty of them were for the Friend, son of Azar.

    Thus these hundred came, clear and radiant.

  5. فتوراة موسى ثم آنجيل مريم

    زبور لداود أَتَت كلها زبرا

    Then the Torah of Moses, then the Gospel of Mary,

    The Psalms for David—all came as scriptures—

  6. وفرقان مولانا النبي محمد

    عليه صلاة اللَه والأَنبيا طرا

    And the Criterion of our master, the Prophet Muhammad.

    Upon him be the blessings of God and all the prophets.

  7. وهم ماية عشرون أَلفاً عدادهم

    وأربع آلاف وثالثة عشرا

    And they are a hundred and twenty thousand in number,

    And four thousand, and thirteen,

  8. ثلاث مئين من تمام حسابهم

    ختامهم الهادي الورى المصطفى الطهرا

    Three hundred to complete their tally;

    Their last is humankind’s guide, the Chosen One, the Pure One.

  9. ثلاث مئين ثالث العشر أُرسلوا

    وباقيهم قد وُفّقوا الفضل والأَجرا

    Three hundred and thirteen were sent,

    And the rest were indeed granted favor and reward.

  10. وأَربعة عُربا وعُجما جَميعهم

    فهذي جَميع الأَنبياء أَتَت تَتَرى

    And four were Arabs; all the rest were non-Arabs.

    Thus these are all the prophets, who came in succession.

  11. فهود شعيب صالح ثم كفلهم

    محمد مولانا فذي العرب الزَهرا

    So Hud, Shuayb, Salih, then their guarantor,

    Muhammad, our master—these are the radiant Arabs.
