قالوا تكهل من هوي
تyou (verb ending completing هويت) فقلتso I said رسمa trace قدalready دثرhas become effaced
ت فقلت رسم قد دثر
They said, “He whom you love has grown middle-aged.”
So I replied, “A trace already effaced.”
عاينتI saw firsthand منamong طلابهthose seeking him
عاينت من طلابه
زمراًgroups مواصلةfollowing زمرgroups
زمراً مواصلة زمر
I have seen among those seeking him
Groups following groups.
وكذاكand likewise أصحابthe scholars of الحديثhadith
وكذاك أصحاب الحديث
نفاقهمtheir being in demand عندat الكبرold age
نفاقهم عند الكبر
And likewise the scholars of hadith:
They are in demand in old age.
