فَتَحتَyou opened هَذاthis البابَthe gate لِلبِرِّfor benevolence
فَتَحتَ هَذا البابَ لِلبِرِّ
فَاِزدَحَمَso thronged الوَفدُthe delegation مِنَout of الشُّكرِgratitude
فَاِزدَحَمَ الوَفدُ مِنَ الشُّكرِ
You opened this gate for benevolence;
You opened this door for righteousness
So the delegation thronged out of gratitude.
So throngs of gratitude came pouring in
سُمِّيَwas called بابَgate السِرِّsecrecy وَالبِرِّand kindness ماdid not
سُمِّيَ بابَ السِرِّ وَالبِرِّ ما
جاءَcame إِلىto المَبرورِthe recipient of kindness فيin السِرِّsecret
جاءَ إِلى المَبرورِ في السِرِّ
It was called the Gate of Secrecy, yet kindness did not
It was called the door of secrets and grace
Reach its recipient in secret.
For what was brought in secret to the virtuous one
