Victory had arranged to meet al-Nasir;
Victory was promised to the victor
It would not appear while he was absent.
It was not present when he was absent
وَالنَصرُand victory قالَsaid إِذاwhen أَتانيhe comes to me نَجدَةًas aid
فَبِنَفسِهِthen by himself يكفيhe suffices بِغَيرِwithout عَساكِرِarmies
And Victory said, 'When he comes to my aid,
And victory said, if succor comes to me
Then he alone will suffice, without armies.'
My soul suffices, without any soldiers
