لا عَن أَحِبَّتِهِ يَنأى وَلا بَلَدِه
Until it is as though a beloved, before his parting,
As though a lover bid farewell before parting,
Departs neither from his loved ones nor from his homeland.
Neither from his loved ones would he turn away, nor his homeland.

By God, do not pity my heart, however far
By God, have mercy on my heart, though sorrows
Sorrows carry it; for this is what it has wrought with its own hand.
Reach it, for this is what it has reaped by its own hand.
