تَغَيَّرَchanged مَنthose who هُمُthey قَلبيmy heart وَعَينيand my eye
تَغَيَّرَ مَن هُمُ قَلبي وَعَيني
فَكَيفَso how مِمَّنfrom one whose تَغَيَّرَchanged باصِراهُhis two eyes
فَكَيفَ مِمَّن تَغَيَّرَ باصِراهُ
Those who are my heart and my eye have changed.
My heart and eyes changed who they were
What, then, of one whose two eyes have changed?
So how could I change from seeing them?
وَليand I have هَمٌّsorrow بِهاover her وَبِهِمand over them طَويلٌlasting
وَلي هَمٌّ بِها وَبِهِم طَويلٌ
فَأَشكُرُهاso I thank her مَنwhoever نَواهُintended it
فَأَشكُرُها مَن نَواهُ
And I have lasting sorrow over her and over them.
I have a lasting grief for them and for her
So I thank her—whoever intended it.
So I thank who intends it
