تُغَيِّبُ عَن هَمّي بِمَن حَمَلَ الكاسا
So many a kiss in the cup, wherever I placed it,
So many sips I took from the cup, where I placed them,
Draws me away from my preoccupation with the one who carried the cup.
To forget my sorrow for the one who handed me the cup.

His breaths free me from its hangover
His breaths relieved me from its intoxication.
Swiftly—so may God give him more breaths for my sake.
Swiftly, and may God give me more of his breaths.
