O you departing from me, while a singing camel-driver urges

my heart onward among their mounts.

You departed with my heart, my solace, and

my comfort, patience, hopes, and sleep.

I parted with the sweetness of my life on the day

you departed—so had you arranged a rendezvous?

You have robbed my heart of its black

core, and you were in the black pupil of my eye.

So restore to my heart its vanished

    solace, or restore my sleep.
