May you, a full moon, be spared a relapse to a crescent.
The crescent moon receded in the full moon
And may my sun endure, with his ample shade.
And my sun lasted, shaded by shadows

The fever did his rose no harm;
The fever did not affect its roses
And the rose is merely quick to tire.
For roses quickly wilt

For the cheek, I have a replacement for its rose:
I have a replacement for the cheek's rose
A rose watered there with crystal-clear water.
A rose that is watered with pure water

I am a left hand; you are its right.
I am the left, you are the right for it
May God never deprive my right hand of the left.
May God not deprive my left of the right

He has laid claim to illness, after
After recovering, he claimed to be sick
He had recovered, to my knowledge—and this is not permissible.
Though I know well, what is right and what is not

Yesterday you were ill with wasting sickness;
Yesterday you were sick with melancholy
And today you have become ill with coyness.
Today you are sick with coquetry
