أُعتِقتُI was freed مِنfrom رِقِّbondage الخَطاerror
أُعتِقتُ مِن رِقِّ الخَطا
وَفَكِكتُand I was released مِنfrom أَشرِwantonness النَدامَهregret
وَفَكِكتُ مِن أَشرِ النَدامَه
I was freed from bondage to error,
I am freed from the shackles of error
And released from regret's wantonness.
And released from the evils of remorse
ماnot أَنتَyou بِالخِلِّas a close friend الكَريthe generous (continued)
ما أَنتَ بِالخِلِّ الكَري
مِcompletion of 'generous' لِمَنto those whom عَرَفتَyou have known وَلاand no كَرامَهhonor
مِ لِمَن عَرَفتَ وَلا كَرامَه
You are no generous friend
You are not the vile and ignoble one
To those you have known—and no honor to you.
For those who know you or your generosity
قَدindeed كُنتُI was فيon سَفَرِa journey الغُروdelusion (continued)
قَد كُنتُ في سَفَرِ الغُرو
رِcompletion of 'delusion' وَقَدand indeed قَدِمتُI have arrived عَلىin a state of السَلامَهsafety
رِ وَقَد قَدِمتُ عَلى السَلامَه
I had been on a journey of delusion,
I was on a journey of estrangement
And I have arrived safe and sound.
And have now arrived safely home
