أُمسيI spend the evening وَفيand in جَنبَيَّmy two sides وَسواسُwhispering الهَوىlove
أُمسي وَفي جَنبَيَّ وَسواسُ الهَوى
وَسِوايَand someone other than me فيin أُذنَيهِhis two ears وَسواسُrustling الحُليthe jewelry
وَسِوايَ في أُذنَيهِ وَسواسُ الحُلي
I spend the evening with love's whispering in my sides;
Last night, in my heart, desire's whisper
While another has the rustle of jewelry in his ears.
And next to me, in my ear, the charm's murmur
يَتَساهَمونَthey draw lots for السَهمَthe arrow مِنfrom أَلحاظِهِhis glances
يَتَساهَمونَ السَهمَ مِن أَلحاظِهِ
وأُحِسُّهُand I feel it مُتَغَلغِلاًpenetrating deeply فيin مَقتَليmy vital spot
وأُحِسُّهُ مُتَغَلغِلاً في مَقتَلي
They draw lots for the arrow from his glances,
Exchanging glances' arrows, striking me
And I feel it penetrating deep into my vital spot.
I felt them stirring, killing me slowly
