رَأَيتُI saw عِدىfoes عُثمانَUthman فيin حالِthe time of صَيدِهِhis hunt
رَأَيتُ عِدى عُثمانَ في حالِ صَيدِهِ
وَقَدand already أَصبَحَتthey became صَرعىslain نِصالٍblades وَأَسهُمِand arrows
وَقَد أَصبَحَت صَرعى نِصالٍ وَأَسهُمِ
I saw Uthman's foes during his hunt,
I saw Othman’s arrows in the act of slaying
And they had already been slain by blades and arrows.
As they became the floor of blades and darts
تُقادُare led إِلَيناto us وَهيَwhile they are صَرعىslain حُتوفِهاtheir deaths
تُقادُ إِلَينا وَهيَ صَرعى حُتوفِها
وَفيand in طَوقِهاtheir collars حَبلٌa rope يُجَرُّis dragged مِنَof الدَمِthe blood
وَفي طَوقِها حَبلٌ يُجَرُّ مِنَ الدَمِ
They are led to us, fallen victims to their doom,
Led towards us as the slain of his arrows
And around their necks a rope of blood is dragged.
With a bloody rope around their necks drawn
