وَكَيفَand how بَعدَafter اِستِلاميmy touching رُكنَthe corner of كَعبَتِهِhis Kaaba
أَخافُI fear مِنof ظَمَئيmy thirst مِنfrom ماءِthe water of زَمزَمِهِhis Zamzam
And how, after touching the corner of his Kaaba,
Could I fear thirst, with water from his Zamzam?
وَحُرمَةُand the sanctity of البَيتِthe House عِندَamong الخَلقِcreation ماnot جُهِلَتwas unknown
فَقَدfor indeed أَبىrefused اللَهُGod حِرماناًdeprivation بِمُحرِمِهِfor its consecrated pilgrim
And the sanctity of the House is known to all creation;
For God has refused to let its consecrated pilgrim be deprived.
وَإِنَّماand only العُمرُlife أَنفاسٌbreaths مُصَرَّمَةٌcut short
وَلَيسَand not يُعطيit gives ذِماماًprotection مِنagainst تَصَرُّمِهِits ending
And life is but breaths cut short,
And it offers no protection against its ending.
