وَيُحِبُّand he loves عَقدَconvening مَجالِسٍgatherings مَلعونَةٍaccursed
وَيُحِبُّ عَقدَ مَجالِسٍ مَلعونَةٍ
وَأَبوهُand his father كانَused to يُحِبُّlove عَقدَtying الأَلوِيَهthe banners
وَأَبوهُ كانَ يُحِبُّ عَقدَ الأَلوِيَه
And he loves convening accursed gatherings,
He loves to hold cursed gatherings
while his father used to love tying banners.
And his father used to love forming alliances
قَدindeed كانَwas سَعداًSa'd لِلأَعاديto the foes ذابِحاًa slayer
قَد كانَ سَعداً لِلأَعادي ذابِحاً
وَقَعَدتَand you fell short عَنهُof him فَأَنتَso you are سَعدُSa'd الأَخبِيَهthe tents
وَقَعَدتَ عَنهُ فَأَنتَ سَعدُ الأَخبِيَه
He was indeed Sa'd the Slayer to his foes;
He was an enemy appeaser, a slaughterer
but you fell short of him, so you are Sa'd of the Tents.
You refrained from him, so you are the happiest of news
