وصَلَarrived الكِتابُthe letter فَكانَand so it was أَكرَمَthe most gracious وارِدٍvisitor
وصَلَ الكِتابُ فَكانَ أَكرَمَ وارِدٍ
أَهدىbestowed السُرورَjoy لِخادِمٍupon a servant مُشتاقِyearning
أَهدى السُرورَ لِخادِمٍ مُشتاقِ
The letter arrived and was the most gracious visitor;
it bestowed joy upon a yearning servant.
لِلَهِto God (expressing admiration) كَفٌّa hand سَطَّرتهُpenned it فَإِنَّهاfor indeed it is
لِلَهِ كَفٌّ سَطَّرتهُ فَإِنَّها
مُجرىchannel الحَياةِlife وَمَنبَعُand the wellspring الأَرزاقِsustenance
مُجرى الحَياةِ وَمَنبَعُ الأَرزاقِ
God bless the hand that penned it, for it is
the channel of life and the wellspring of sustenance.
