صَدَقَ اللَهُ وَعدَهُ الأَيّاما

صَدَقَ اللَهُ وَعدَهُ الأَيّاما

وَحَمى اللَهُ ثَغرَهُ الإِسلاما

Down the ages, God has fulfilled His promise,

God has kept His promise through the days,

And God has guarded His frontier—Islam.

قيلَ دَبَّ العَدُوُّ مِن تَحتِ لَيلٍ

قُلتُ يا قَومُ لا يَكونُ مَناما

It was said: “The enemy crept in under cover of night.”

I said: “My people, it cannot be a dream.

I said: O people, it is no dream.

لَو خَرَجتُم إِلى السِهامِ نَهاراً

لَو خَرَجتُم إِلى السِهامِ نَهاراً

لَخَرَجتُم لِلغارِمينَ سِهاما

لَخَرَجتُم لِلغارِمينَ سِهاما

Had you marched out by daylight to face the arrows,

Had you gone out to face the arrows by day,

You would have gone forth as shares for the debtors.”
