وَما اِنقادَتِ الأَجسادُ قَسراً بِكَفِّهِ

وَما اِنقادَتِ الأَجسادُ قَسراً بِكَفِّهِ

وَلَكِنَّهُ يَقتادُها بِقُلوبِها

وَلَكِنَّهُ يَقتادُها بِقُلوبِها

And bodies did not submit by force to his hand,

Bodies are not coerced into submission by His palm,

But he leads them through their hearts.

Rather He leads them by their hearts,

وَلِلَهِ وَجهٌ كُلُّ عَينٍ تَوَدُّهُ

وَلِلَهِ وَجهٌ كُلُّ عَينٍ تَوَدُّهُ

وَتَسأَلُهُ إِحسانَهُ بِذُنوبِها

وَتَسأَلُهُ إِحسانَهُ بِذُنوبِها

And God be praised for a face that every eye loves,

Every eye has a face that yearns for God,

And asks him for his kindness through its sins.

And begs His favor despite its sins.
