فَيا لِسِهامٍ تُفتَدى بِالمَقاتِلِ
And a graceful youth whose eyelids I ransom with my heart!
He shut his eyelids and ransomed me with his heart,
And oh, what arrows, ransomed with the body's vital parts!
So my arrows are redeemed by the slain.

You spoke truly, my reproacher: reproaching me is sincere advice,
You spoke truly, reproacher, my reproach is sincere advice,
But it is offered to one who will not accept it.
Yet it is bestowed upon one who cannot accept it.
