أَكتُبهُ يَكتُب لي أَماناً ماضِياً
وَأَبعَثهُand I send it يَبعَثit sends ليfor me زَماناًa time راجِعاreturning
وَأَبعَثهُ يَبعَث لي زَماناً راجِعا
I write it; it writes for me a binding pledge of safety.
I write it, it writes me a past security
And I send it; it sends me a time restored.
And I send it, it sends me a returning time
لَوif أَشتَريهِI buy it بِمُهجَتيwith my lifeblood فَقَليلَةٌthen it is little
لَو أَشتَريهِ بِمُهجَتي فَقَليلَةٌ
فَاِسمَحso be generous بِهِwith it فَمَتىfor when عَرَفتُكَhave I known you مانِعاwithholding
فَاِسمَح بِهِ فَمَتى عَرَفتُكَ مانِعا
Were I to buy it with my lifeblood, that would be a small price.
If I buy it with my skull, it's little
So be generous with it—for when have I known you to withhold?
