أَكَذا كُلُّ غائِبٍ

أَكَذا كُلُّ غائِبٍ

غابَ عَمَّن يُحِبُّهُ

غابَ عَمَّن يُحِبُّهُ

Is every absent one like this—

So it is with all who are absent,

gone from the one who loves him,

They are gone from those who love them,

غابَ عَنهُ بِشَخصِهِ

غابَ عَنهُ بِشَخصِهِ

وَسَلا عَنهُ قَلبُهُ

وَسَلا عَنهُ قَلبُهُ

absent from him in person,

Gone from them in person,

and with his heart having forgotten him?

Yet their hearts ask after them
