لَكَYours المَجدُglory تُروىare recounted عَنby عِداهُits foes عُلاهُits heights
فَأَيُّThen what رَجاءٍhope قَدindeed عَداهُpassed it over نَداهُits bounty
Yours is glory; its heights are recounted by its foes.
Yours is the glory, told of far and wide
What hope, then, has its bounty passed over?
So what hope can escape your encompassing stride?
إِذاIf شِئتَyou wish يَوماًone day أَنto تَراهُsee it فَإِنَّماthen only
تَرىyou see ماwhat تَرىyou see فيin النَجمِthe star دونَbelow مَداهُits reach
If one day you wish to see it, then you can only
If you desire to behold a thing some day
See what you see in the star, below its reach.
You see but what you see in a star, nothing more
وَجودُكَAnd your generosity سُحبٌclouds وَالسَحائِبُand the clouds أَرضُهاtheir earth
فَهَذيSo these البَراياcreatures لَوif عَلِمتَyou knew ثَراهُits soil
And your generosity is clouds, and the clouds are their earth;
Your bounty is the rain clouds, the land their place
So these creatures, if you knew, are its soil.
These deserts but knew they’d marvel at your grace
