Shihāb sang for us one night,
A shooting star sang to us one night
a song that put the evening companions to sleep.
A song that made the nightingale hush
فَأَعجَبَso it pleased هَذاthis اِبنَson of بَلّيمَةٍBallīma
فَأَعجَبَ هَذا اِبنَ بَلّيمَةٍ
فَأَقبَلَso he began مِنfrom دُبرِهِhis backside يَنمَرُgrowling
فَأَقبَلَ مِن دُبرِهِ يَنمَرُ
This pleased Ibn Ballīma,
And it amazed Ibn Ballima's son
so he began growling from his backside.
Who turned around from his back to pounce
