when I have no mounts but these.

that Time has now regained its youth—

a rule of justice: never has an incident

of oppression occurred within it—no, nor has calamity struck.

the eastern reaches, to their limits, and the western lands.

Now then, I have understood a message

that came from you, containing rare, well-crafted sayings:

a truthful message, pure in wording, fashioned

and refined by a mold from the instruments of reason.

and I had clasped it in both my open hands.

for my deed—and gratitude is doubtless a duty—

this is the least help I can give, and I

through all time shall seek you alone, above all creation.

by which the calamities of fickle Time are shattered.

each man has paths according to his pursuits.

his vipers and scorpions creep between us.

Yet, once the love between us had grown pure, he turned back

to his chagrin, with nothing but failure in that endeavor.
