Whoever is not aided by his fortune,
The one who lacks assistance from his ancestors
He whose good fortune does not aid him,
his doom lies in striving to act.
May eventually perish from such deprivation
Finds his demise in the very act of striving.

So say to one whose circumstances are declining:
So say to him whose state is deprivation
So say to the one whose luck is in retreat:
Never expose yourself to destruction by taking action.
Do not expose yourself to ruin through agitation
Do not expose yourself to ruin through action.
