ما لا يَكونُ فَلا يَكونُ بِحيلَةٍ

ما لا يَكونُ فَلا يَكونُ بِحيلَةٍ

أَبَداً وَما هُوَ كائِنٌ سَيكونُ

أَبَداً وَما هُوَ كائِنٌ سَيكونُ

What is not to be cannot be brought about by any stratagem,

What will not be, will not be by any means

What is not meant to be cannot be forced by any artifice,

ever; and what is destined to be will be.

Ever, and what is to be, will be in its time

Ever; and that which is destined shall come to pass.

سَيكونُ ما هُوَ كائِنٌ في وَقتِهِ

سَيكونُ ما هُوَ كائِنٌ في وَقتِهِ

وَأَخو الجَهالَةِ مُتعَبٌ مَحزونُ

وَأَخو الجَهالَةِ مُتعَبٌ مَحزونُ

What is destined to be will come to pass in its own time,

What is to be, will be in its time

What is decreed will occur at its appointed time,

and the ignorant man is weary and sorrowful.

And the brother of ignorance is exhausted and sad

While the companion of ignorance is weary and sorrowful.

يَسعى القَويُّ فَلا يَنالُ بِسَعيِهِ

يَسعى القَويُّ فَلا يَنالُ بِسَعيِهِ

حَظاً وَيَحظى عاجِزٌ وَمَهينُ

حَظاً وَيَحظى عاجِزٌ وَمَهينُ

The strong man strives, yet does not gain through his striving

The strong man strives but gets no share by his striving

The strong man strives, yet attains not by his striving

a share of fortune, while the helpless and the lowly prosper.

While the helpless and despised attains his fortune

A share of fortune, while the helpless and lowly succeed.
